Ankur Warikoo is the founder of hyper-local merchant listing company Nearbuy.com. He is an angel investor, public speaker and mentor to young businesses. After his MBA from ISB, he worked with consultancy firm AT Kearney on projects across multiple industries—from media to real estate.

He began his entrepreneurial journey as a cofounder of Accentium Web, running a portfolio of web-based businesses. Next, he turned Venture Partner at the Rocket Internet consortium, whose projects included FoodPanda and GroupOn. He was part of the pre-launch team of well-known fashion website Jabong before establishing GroupOn’s business in India. Nearbuy was created after a management buy-out of GroupOn India in partnership with Sequoia Capital India. Ankur resigned as CEO of Nearbuy in October 2019 but continues to remain a board member and shareholder.

In September 2017, he made his first LinkedIn video, which he called #warikoowednesdays. Since then, he has steadily grown his personal brand “warikoo” on social media through content that leverages his insights and learnings from the world of consumer internet businesses.

From 2014 to 2017, he was a member of his alma mater ISB’s Next Generation Leaders Board, a group of driven individuals which provided strategic advice to the Dean and Executive Board on shaping the future direction of the institution.
