Thrive Skills are an essential set of cognitive, social and behavioral skills to enable our learners to continuously succeed, at every stage of their career.
Learning Agility is when you find yourself in an unfamiliar situation without knowing what to do, but then being able to figure it out. It is a set of complex skills that enable us to learn something new in one place and then apply what we learned elsewhere, in a completely different situation. Learning Agility is our ability to learn, adapt, unlearn, and relearn to keep up with constantly changing conditions.
Successful organizations need to have leaders who possess Learning Agility because it’s a reliable indicator of a person’s leadership potential. A leader with high Learning Agility will be able to adapt to dynamic environments, be resilient in the face of adversity and will be open to thinking innovatively. Strong Learning Agility skills also make a person wiser since they are constantly learning from past experiences and are aware of how to use those experiences in the current situation that they are faced with.
Learning Agility skills can be taught and learned at any stage in life. However, one needs to constantly practice this skill to make it stronger and more effective. Being able to call yourself an agile learner isn’t about what you have accomplished previously, it’s about the potential you have to accomplish future tasks.
Strong Learning Agility in the workplace helps an individual manage crises and disruptions with ease and calm. This is because of the knowledge that they draw from past experiences. Learning Agility skills also ensure greater problem solving and better implementation of practical solutions.
Harappa programs that focus on Learning Agility as a Thrive Skill are the Powerful Presence Program and Young Talent Bootcamp.
