Thrive Skills are an essential set of cognitive, social and behavioral skills to enable our learners to continuously succeed, at every stage of their career.
Effective storytelling is one of the most powerful means to influence, teach, and inspire. Powerful Storytelling forges connections among people, and between people and ideas. Stories convey the culture, history, and values that unite people.
A good story can be most effective when told by a great storyteller. Effective storytelling has the ability to capture the audience, lead them in whatever direction necessary and leave listeners/readers with new knowledge for them to absorb, a value which they may carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Effective storytelling stems from a simple method called the 4 P’s of storytelling. These are at the root of Powerful Storytelling and if adhered to, will ensure enhanced storytelling skills and lead to effective storytelling ideas and opportunities. The 4 P’s are–People, Places, Plot and Purpose–each of which are crucial to build an effective story or narrative.
Storytelling skills can be developed with the right tools and frameworks along with the will to improve storytelling skills. Effective storytelling begins by understanding the audience and the setup and by spinning a plot or narrative that appeals to the audience.
Harappa programs that focus on Powerful Storytelling as a Thrive Skill are the Women’s Leadership Program, Powerful Presence Program, Inspiring Faculty Program and Placement Success Program.
