Entertainer Personality Type

Adele, Elton John and Marilyn Monroe are and will remain some of the greatest entertainers in history. Through their music and art, they’ve inspired and touched the hearts of many across the world. But that’s not all that they have in common.

These great entertainers share the ESFP personality type. The ESFP personality type is one of 16 personality types on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

The MBTI Personality Assessment Test

The MBTI or the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality assessment test to discover your qualities, strengths and weaknesses, workplace habits and relationships.

The 16 personalities in the MBTI are based on Carl Jung’s theory of extraversion and introversion. The spectrum of extraversion and introversion defines unique personality traits that people share. A four-letter abbreviation differentiates each personality type comprising the following:

  • Extroversion (E)
  • Sensing or Observant (S)
  • Thinking (T)
  • Intuitive (N)
  • Judgment (J)
  • Feeling (F)
  • Perception or Prospecting (P)
  • Introversion (I)

Each personality type has either an Extroverted (E) or Introverted (I) trait. The ESFP personality type is extraverted (E), sensing (S), feeling (F) and perceptive (P). Other famous ESFP characters you may know are Jamie Foxx, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Steve Irwin and Jamie Oliver.

The Entertainer Personality Type

The Entertainer personality type, as you would’ve guessed by now, loves the spotlight. They enjoy entertaining others by putting on a show, making others laugh with their wit and enjoying the attention. They’re quintessential extroverts, which makes them great performers. They have the strongest ‘aesthetic sense’ as per the MBTI test. They’re the most well-dressed of all personality types, with an eye for fashion unlike any other. But most of all, what makes them great performers and true entertainers is their ability to read other people. ESFP traits allow them to pick up on other people’s emotions and sensitivities.

Here are some ESFP personality traits of the Entertainer personality type:

  • People with the Entertainer personality type are quick to help if they see someone in trouble
  • The ESFP personality type are pacifiers and like to avoid conflict. They do best when they can get along with everyone
  • Entertainers are spontaneous, which means they often overlook the effort they have to make to enjoy everyday luxuries
  • They believe in luck and seek help from their friends readily rather than work toward long-term goals
  • Those with the Entertainer personality type have a taste for the finer things. This can mean they sometimes let go of better judgment and spend not so wisely
  • If there’s someone who’s the life of the party, it’s someone with ESFP personality type
  • They’re always ready to try new things and experiment without restricting themselves

ESFP personality traits make Entertainers sociable employees who bring flavor, fun and joy to the workplace. They get along well with their teams, rallying everyone if something needs to be done. This is one of their strengths that helps them work well even in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.

If you’re someone who’s shy, having an ESFP personality type around can make your work life even better thanks to their stellar social skills.

There are two types of ESFP personalities: ESFP-A and ESFP-T. Which ESFP Type you are depends on A or Assertive and T or Turbulent. As charming personalities, an ESFP personality type can be highly energetic. Assertive Entertainers are more comfortable being themselves than Turbulent Entertainers. The latter need to invest more in self-improvement to make the most of their personalities. They may worry more than Assertive Entertainers at times.
